Did you wake with a stiff neck this morning?

If you like many others woke up this morning with neck cramp or stiffness there may be natural supplement able helping to relieve the pain and discomfort.

We have all had it and if you suffer from a stiff neck at best it can be uncomfortable and at worst leave you in excruciating pain.

Why you get neck pain

There are many reasons for neck stiffness which you will of course be wondering could have caused the neck strain.  Did you sleep in an awkward position? Did you turn your neck too quickly? Did you sit badly at the computer?  Maybe it was due to the exercise you did earlier in the week?

Lack of vitamins and minerals

Whatever the reason could be it is a fact that there is a decline in the vitamin and mineral content in foods nowadays due to growing methods and processing which may mean your body might be lacking in vital minerals such as magnesium.

Magnesium difficiency can cause muscle cramp

According to the Institute of Medicine without an intake of at least 410 to 420 milligrams of magnesium per day for adult males, as recommended by the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences, and 320 to 360 mg/day for adult females, muscle function could decline, resulting in fatigue, knots and cramps.

So what can we do to help increase our magnesium intake?

Magnesium tablets are available in health food shops that can be taken orally.  You can also increase your intake of leafy vegetables, whole grains, beans, nuts and most dairy products.  What is also very effective is magnesium oil spray and magnesium flakes which can be added to your bath.  Both can be ordered online.

Magnesium oil spray can help with neck cramps

‘It works.  I keep a bottle on my bedside table and when required I apply a few sprays onto the neck and rub it in slightly.
It helps to relax the muscles.  There is a slight tingly feeling when sprayed which disappears once your magnesium levels improve.’
